New hires: what to expect

UPS hires into all domiciles, with both domestic and international flying. Expect to fly very chopped up lines your probationary year, making commuting possibly difficult. Reserve does not go junior. Commuting to MIA trips is especially difficult as a very junior first officer.

Uniforms: Company pays for new-hire uniforms. After that, $253 yearly allowance towards uniform parts. Optional attire: hat and leather jacket.

Countdown to being off probation: Second year pay estimate: take yearly guarantee and multiply times 1.15 to get an average W2 earnings amount (which includes overrides, per diem, open time, junior assign, fly/vacation/training on days off).
